How to Put On a Spectacular Afternoon on the Green

University of the Virgin Islands is delighted to announce its Annual Afternoon on the Green. It will be held on March 3rd from 12:15 to 2 pm on the Herman E. Moore golf course in St. Thomas. This year’s event has the theme “A Explosion of Culture, Fun & Food during Afternoon at the Green “, providing numerous activities and entertainment that guests can delight in. This event is a renowned fundraising event to support scholarships for students. It also gives the possibility for the talents of local tradition to be celebrated.

Kyza Amy. Calwood, Ph.D. has been appointed the Chairman of the Event Planning Committee. She declared “Let’s be determined to achieve new standards each year.” We are particularly delighted that we will be able to celebrate the event with you in person, and we look eagerly to meeting everyone at the event on Sunday. On the Main Stage we will be featuring local legends like Cool Session Brass, a famous favorite of all our constituents and an emblem of Caribbean talent. Furthermore, Shaw HP, an acclaimed Soca musician from Love City, St. John, shall also share the spotlight. In addition, there will be dancing groups from school and from all walks of life. (Note that the aforementioned program might be subject to modifications.

We’re excited to announce the events scheduled for the opening Ceremony. The ceremony will start at : p.m. With remarks by UVI the President David Hall. The Ulla F. Muller Elementary School’s Phantastic Panthers Dance team and Cheer team will be singing at 3:00 p.m.; St. John Dancers will perform at 2:30 p.m.; Mungo Niles Cultural Dancers will be performing around 2:00 p.m. Shaw HP will be performing at 5:00 p.m.; UVI Royalty and other special performances are scheduled at 6:00 p.m. Cool Session brass will begin at 7 p.m.

Happy Times Entertainment, the Reichhold Center and V.I. The Reichhold Center, Happy Times Entertainment and the V.I. have put in great efforts to make sure that visitors are entertained through a range of entertainment and experiences that cater according to their preferences. You can play giant dominoes as well as mini-golf. Also, there is face painting, bounce house games in the yard, carnival headpiece displays by Anthony Felix as well as Boy Scout tent building demonstrations. The V.I. Children’s Museum and the V.I. Children’s Museum will be open in order to offer extra entertainment to children of all ages. The organizers are continuously striving to exceed expectations and design unique events with each iteration.

Bubbles and scientific experiments are available for teenagers to experience interactive display that showcase the University of the Virgin Islands’ academic programs within the Tent for Academics. For a delicious buffet, foodies are able to set up their tables next to the Food Tent. A second tent will be filled with desserts like tarts, cakes, sweet breads and more sweets made by local bakers as well as local chefs. Also, don’t miss the traditional drink table as well as the Chef’s Corner.

Afternoon on the Green will include cooking demonstrations, as well as an possibility to choose your most-loved food.
